Brandon Ballengée, three photos from "Malamp Reliquaries"
Brandon Ballengée has worked with citizen scientists in Belgium, England, France, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, and Spain to survey deformed amphibians inhabiting ponds, wetlands, and rivers. One year after producing these three photos, he visited neighboring Nieuwstadt three times, yielding 1671 amphibians from 3 different species. Not only did he discover the presence of Ranavirus, but these amphibians exhibited the highest deformity levels that he's ever encountered.
