One of the break-through pieces, Spora Studio located one of the rare sunny spots within the forest, identified useful edible and medicinal "pioneer plants" already growing in the Bessunger Forest, and transplanted them to create the "Migrant Sanctuary Garden," one of Germany's first ever examples of agro-forestry. This forest garden is "populated with plants from various parts of the world that have migrated across the globe and are often maligned as 'weeds' by naturalists and gardeners alike, despite their value to damaged ecosystems and as food and medicine for people."
