To measure the air quality, 431art hung several “Moss Indicators” (2018), boards partly covered in moss that resemble PH strips, in the Bessunger Forrest, as well as visible locations around Darmstadt city center. They worked with scientists to determine which air pollutants the mosses absorbed, while hanging around town.
