During public workshops, Anke Mellin invited people to make lasting tree prints on clay tablets, which were fired and put on display in her “Museum in the Woods.” Mellin considers each tree’s bark the heart of the tree, since it is a record of each tree’s experience as a growing tree. People have since added all sorts of tree-matter collected from the forest. As Mellin notes, “The goal of her project is to inspire closer inspection, the perception of previously overlooked things.”
