Although the ashes all look alike, what’s clear is that once the ash-glazed tiles are fired, their differences are quite obvious (Locust (faux acacia), Douglas Fir, Japanese Knotweed, Goldenrod, Tree of Heaven, and Red Cherry). Rebecca Chesney and Jean-François Paquay used the tiles to create markers in the forest to identify these invasive species.
